Hedland's Got Talent & Youth Awards Night
One of our most rewarding activities has to be Hedland’s Got Talent which has run for a decade and keeps getting better. We also hold the Hedland Youth Awards, which give our young people a rare chance to be celebrated and applauded, and see themselves in a really positive light.
It is incredibly important for young people to receive this type of feedback, helping increase self-esteem and self-worth and enabling them to see a positive rather than a negative pathway for themselves.
In 2020, COVID-19 meant we could not go ahead with Hedland's Got Talent or Hedland Youth Awards in their usual style. Instead, we hit the road to deliver prizes (and joy!) to each of the 21 young people who were nominated for a Youth Award - a total of 21 young people aged from 7-21 years.
