Thawu - Mindfulness Centre
Introducing Thawu, YIC's specialised sanctuary dedicated to at-risk youth, offering a dynamic array of programs and workshops throughout the year. Thawu is a sensory oasis thoughtfully crafted to provide a haven of tranquillity, featuring immersive visual and tactile experiences. It serves as a safe harbour for at-risk young individuals, offering them a refuge to relax, engage in conversations, or simply take a breather when needed.
At Thawu, our mission is to empower at-risk youth through the transformative practices of meditation and mindfulness. We equip them with essential tools to effectively navigate the challenges of stress, anxiety, and complex emotions, enabling them to make more informed choices about their behavior and impulse control.
Our approach has yielded profound results, elevating confidence, self-esteem, and overall mental well-being. Participants experience heightened levels of happiness and contentment, leading to improved interactions with peers and mentors. We witness not only significant behavioral transformations but also a deep sense of belonging, ownership, and pride among these young individuals.
Our impact extends beyond behavioral improvements, encompassing increased positivity, confidence, engagement, overall well-being, personal hygiene, emotional intelligence, and trust-building. Thawu is a lifeline for at-risk youth, where positive change takes root and flourishes.
